Phillies Alumni Weekend 2013

Regardless of the results of the baseball games this weekend against the Braves, we all had a good time at the Phillies Annual Alumni weekend. On Friday night Curt Schilling was inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame. He became the third member (not counting John Vukovich or Larry Bowa, both were coaches on that team) of the 1993 National League Championship squad to be honored by the franchise.
On Saturday night, the entire 1993 team was celebrated 20 years after that magical summer. The highlight of both the ceremonies was the presence of Darren Daulton. As most of you know, Dutch is battling brain cancer. He was greeted both nights to a loud standing ovation from the great Phillies fans.
For me, it is always a thrill to get back to Philadelphia to see some of my old friends and teammates, including some of the all-time greats like Mike Schmidt, Jim Bunning, and of course my old roommate Tony Taylor. I am blessed to be able to enjoy these moments, and even more blessed to be able to share them with my with my son and my grandson.
