Ed Herrmann: 1946-2013

For those of you that had not heard the news… our friend Ed Herrmann passed away on Sunday morning. It is with a heavy heart we ask you to pray for his family as they prepare for his funeral on January 6th. As he did with everything he faced on and off the baseball diamond, Ed gave all he had to give during his long battle with cancer. He was a good man and he will be missed. Without a doubt, Hoggy has already jogged out to the bullpen in heaven and has started working with some of God’s pitchers.

From Ed’s CaringBridge site

Dear Friends.

Ed lost his battle with cancer at 7:33am on December 22 after a very difficult 24 hours. Letting him go was easier than watching him suffer. We do have peace knowing he won his spiritual battle. This CHRISTmas, he is dancing in heaven with his Lord and Savior. For this we are grateful.

So many of you made an amazing difference to him in the last days of his life especially those who were able to visit and personally show him your love and support. This brought him great joy in his final days.

Life without Ed for Nicole and I will be different and difficult but his memories will keep us going. I love you Hoggy.
